Confirmation bias. There are tons and tons of predictions like this made all the time that don't pan out, but you just don't remember them because they're not remarkable. Once one does, it's "OMG, PRECOG!" Damn our primate brains for seeing patterns where none exist.

Agreed. It's like people saying "I hope it doesn't rain!" Then it rains and they're like "I jinxed it". But even if they haven't said anything it's gonna rain anyway, or if it didn't rain then they forgot that they've said something about raining on the day.
Another good example was probably when the world was suppose to have ended a few months ago...
