Well there can be quite a few helpful messages/bloodstains to see how people died. And if you can get a few people in your world to help with a hard boss thats always good. Then again, in the later levels you'd get ganked a lot by some very bored, very hardcore players... so I guess being offline isn't toooo bad.
Also, for anyone who wants to get it: It isn't hard, it's just unforgiving if you mess up, and you mess up. A lot. So yeah xD Once you learn from your mistakes and don't take the loss of souls so hard it can be REALLY fun.
