Nope, not complicated at all. Doesn't take much time at all either. Garena is pretty much a battle.net for people who downloaded the game illegally. It can still be used by those who bought it though. Download it here:
http://www.garena.com/client/ install it and everything. You can make your account when you launch garena so just do that. This tells you how to set up garena to play with dota.
