from my experience... i've enhanced 3 pairs of lvl 34 boots and two of them got destroyed before it got to +1, and the 3rd got destroyed going for a +2...

so if you dont hv the spare money to enhance... i suggest you leave it clean~ since the extra dmg you get isnt great enough for you to risk it =)
