The problem with this game is that character characterization is minimal. Even if you change your hair colour in the creation screen (only about 5 options anyway), once you get a helmet your hair changes to a fixed look associated with said helmet. Maybe it's just me but I don't like seeing 12398102 clones of myself running around...
I thought the gameplay was pretty fun at first but I couldn't find many parties for the later stages and soloing the missions on hard mode can be a bitch. :/
