I'm finding partying with mages can be your biggest friend or your worst nightmare. Still, when they are skilled and knowledgable, it makes for a great experience. On the stones, the expense is really only a startup expense, I usually only use 2 or 3 hp stones a week, so after I am full, the cost isn't much to worry about.
