It hasn't happened to me lately - it did happen when I was in the early 40's and was fighting wearbears and ratmen, some guy came up and started begging for my +9 hammer, kept offering 1G for it. He kept at it for a week until I leveled out of the area and gave it to a guildy. What a freaking jerk!!!
Like he couldn't see that I was using it - he never asked unless I was fighting something.....
