I also couldn't get past how, right after the protagonist destroyed their ancestral home, exposed them to the humans, betrayed their collective society right after his induction, bedded the future matron who was as good as betrothed to another and indirectly caused her father's/their leader's death, everything was washed clean because he shows up on the big red bird and they adopt him as their lord and saviour, no questions asked.
What I really didn't like though was how they're saved in the end by the animals and the appeal to the planet. Seemed like a cheap way for the Navi to win an otherwise lost battle. A friend of mine compared it to someone crying out "THOR!" in the middle of a pile-up and bolts of lightning then rain down from Heaven, smiting all your enemies.
Disliked how there was no grey area between the Navi and the Humans and the Navi automatically hold the high-ground with no comparable sympatethic characters among the antagonists.
Good graphics though xD
Well, when your planet is a god, why not have a deus ex machina? It's the Gaia model explicitly depicted.
As far as the other things, what did you expect? This is just pulling from a variety of stories and myths told over the years. It had elements of Dances With Wolves, Ferngully, and Pocahontas...
Seriously, can you name a single absolutely original story?
