Well what exactly do you mean? Gotta be more specific. Do you mean laning? Or trying to gank? And what champion? All champions have different ways to counter them.

er... forget her name... the angel knight... starts with a k... But anyways, basically just fighting alongside my troops when faced with Ashe. The player then proceeds to kill me by kiting using ashe's ice arrows and taking advantage of the fact that i only have one buff that gives me any sort of range. Ashe is fast, and can kite my character pretty easily, and i have almost no chance of laying an offensive against her.
