That is a very important life lesson. I think it took twice before my kid caught on that waking me up when there isn't blood is a bad idea.
Although he did wake me up the other morning with, "Daddy, I think your cat is sick..." and then he put my cat, which had died in the middle of the night, on my pillow. I nearly had a double burial that day, heh.
