Yeah that breathing thing is called "Anapana meditation." They made us do it in my school every morning from 5th grade to 10th.
However, I prefer the WOT method. You have to imagine a flame, and feed all your emotion, your thoughts into the fire, until there's nothing left but the fire. Then, you slowly put out the fire, and feel calmer.
