Yeah, but they tended to just throw a tarp or jacket or something over their heads and ran around anyway. I thought that was pushing it a bit. You'd see Spike or Angel run into a room with smoke coming off of them, but if a lesser vamp even looked at the sun wrong he immediately went up in flames, LOL.
