Normally a computer would assign either 0 or 1 as values (either passive or adressive), however, GPilot is using a technique called "fuzzy logic", commonly used in artificial intelligence. Instead of assigning concrete values, it tries to calculate a value in between (0.4), and to use that value for further processing until the end of the program.
