Twitter is the end result of decades of "You're special!" self-esteem boosting. It has made a generation think that everyone gives a flying rat's ass about what they're doing every minute of every day. Seriously. You're really not that important. (Note: This isn't directed at anyone in particular, no one is THAT important.) Penny Arcade has a good comic on it, but I can't be arsed to look it up.
