well, for one im a wimp. but second of all, one of my heros is Martin Luther King Jr. i believe he was correct that peaceful protest is a much greater resolution to something than violence. i believe that if im picked on, fighting back makes me just as bad as the bullies since i am therefore advocating violence. if you dont stick by your values in the tough times, they're not really values.
EDIT: i've never really seen violence solve a problem either. it stops it, but it doesnt change how the person sees the world. for example, if you punch a bully, is it going to make him see that violence is any less of a way to get by?

I think there's a huge difference between initiating violence, and self defence. One is justified, the other isn't.
Take terrorism for example. I live in India, and on the 26th of Dec, a hotel in Mumbai was bombed. Should we turn the other cheek and let them bomb Bangalore also? I think not. They should be rooted out and brought before justice.
