It really brings up the argument, why have we allowed certain words to have this power over us? Does the word itself, a collection of letters, have some sort of inherent ability to be good or evil?
Language is merely the way in which we've developed to communicate thoughts. Do we object to certain words because the thoughts they convey are evil? Since the intent of melon farmer (an insult using an invective tone) is the same as the original, why bother changing it in the first place?
