so nice in the new versions if your opponent does dig and you do earthquake you do double damage  (if this was in the old versions I didnt know about it...)
and earthquake is a ground attack so if you use a ground pokemon you get STAB effect which doubles your attack again
and then if you have a hold item that powers up your ground attacks

STAB doesn't double your attack power, it does x1.5 more...
