Yeah.. I went to their profile and added friends but it gave me an undefined message. Felt like my request didn't get across. Is that normal?

Try internet explorer o: It should confirm your friend request, not the undefined message
edit: don't open multiple tabs when you do it, cause you'll get the undefined message. I'm not sure if the undefined message lets your friend request through, so better to be safe than sorry and open one tab at a time o:
