But I guess not.

Hmm...Personally, I would want my mage to join a guild with varieties. Not only because what you're trying to do sounds very deadly D: (imagine all the +lvl60 mages doing horrific aoe skills everywhere in elderine D

but also it might limit the amount of help that might be available for other guild members.
