There's some talk from a few people I know that this is a major breakthrough for a cure. They seem to get the impression that all you need is a marrow transplant from a person with the HIV-resistant genes and you're scot-free.
Optimistic and all, but they seem to forget that the chances of finding someone with compatible bone morrow (tiny) and that the person has the resistance is microscopic at best for most people >__<
Undoubtedly lead to new insights and paths, but some people are getting the wrong idea.
