Really? Because you're describing every character except a mage and a cleric (for the HP part) in the early stages. And its really great that you think mages don't deal enough damage, shows how little you know. Maybe you should try grinding on monsters that are lower level.

Uh... no. I think that because Mages are forced to rely on Magic Missile [01] which doesn't do much damage by itself. And when you empower it, it only goes up to +1. That is again if you stick with Magic Missile [01]. Yeah, we can deal a lot of damage IF we use four different spells at once. Otherwise just spamming one spell over and over again won't do much. And the good spells have major cool down times that really hurt us.
