I was on my way to work and my husband called to tell me a plane just hit the 1st. tower. At first, I thought it was a horrific accident, then I heard him say “oh shi! No!†He was watching the news when the second plane hit.
My first thought once I realized it was not an accident was that I just wanted to go get my kids and go back home to my husband. I was numb the whole day as the stories kept flooding in about how people were jumping from the building just so that they did not burn to death, then hearing about the Pentagon, and the other plane that went down in the field, then when the buildings started collapsing, I could not imagine being on one of the upper floors and knowing that I was going to die and having to decide to wait until the fire consumed me, the building collapsed, or jump. It will be a day that I will remember forever. It was so beautiful outside, sunny and pretty, and yet I stayed cold all day long.
And yes, I would like to keep views out of this thread if at all possible and let it be about the people that died that day. It does not matter who or what did it, caused it, or whatever. The fact still remains that thousands of people got up that day, got ready for work, and left their loved ones to never be able to return home to them.
We get up everyday, get to still breath, talk, play games, see our loved ones, simply Live, and they never will.
