It's a bad idea to turn off Windows Automatic Update if you don't check for updates manually.
Also, if you have any computer-related questions, you may want to ask in a forum dedicated to just computer stuff such as
BleepingComputer.com or
PCPitstop. Registration is free.
I tried to google your error message (which, unfortunately, is too general because more information is needed to pinpoint the exact cause) and found one thread in a forum which points to a virus which slipped past the user's antivirus software's detection.
Perhaps you may want to try asking in those forums I listed or some others you may find.
