That bot made about 100 changes within 2 minutes - that's 1 second per edit. Restricting how often unregistered users can post will thwart further attempts like that.
A good idea would be to
restrict the ability to create new pages to registered users only. It is easy to revert changes by simply going to the user contributions page and clicking revert there. Getting rid of pages involves 6 clicks in total, plus a lot of mouse movements...
I'm thinking uhhh, perhaps it's time the wiki should have a software update.
