selezen is on a distinguished road
I did a little test today on some grave robbers with my lv 25 archer. i have both an x-bow and a bow in my inventory, both were the lv 20 req. any way i went and strting shooting at the robbers and i averaged about 65 dmg with the bow and about 80 with the x-bow. now for the math.

bow attack rate: 1.1
x-bow attack rate: 1.4

you'll find that the LCD (Lowest Common Denominator) for the two numbers is 15.4.

Bow: 15.4 divided by 1.1 = 14 shots
x-bow: 15.4 divided by 1.4 = 11 shots

ok now all we have to do is total it up.

Bow: 14 x 65 = 910 dmg
x bow: 11 x 80 = 880 dmg

now this doesnt include the crit rate, but i do think it shows that the .3 second difference is a large one. however, to be fair, lets factor in the crit rate.

so x-bows have a 6% critical. so, 0.06 x 11 = 0.66
that means we have an additional 66% of 1 attack to add on to our total seeing we dont have a full critical.

80 x 0.66 = 52.8

so now the totals are...

bow:910
x-bow: 932.8

oh wait, what about the bow criticals! which as we all know are 4%

0.04 x 14 = 0.56

0.56 is the amount of times you'd critical with a bow in 14 shots. that means we have an additional 56% of 1 attack to add on to our total seeing we dont have a full critical.

65 x 0.56 = 36.4

and now the moment of truth... the final totals.

bow:946.4
x-bow: 932.8

my reaction to this was something like ZOMG WTF!?!? because i always thought that bows did significantly less dmg however it seems to be a lot different than that. no matter your attribuites because those do not vary from bow to bow, and no matter your skills because those as well are consistant, it seems to me that the .3 second difference is all it takes. whether you spam skills or not you will still have the same dmg increase for both bows. infact, the bow may be better for spamming because the attacks will be closer together. before i did this i thought the x-bow was the easy winner, but now my mind is changed.

please post feedback to this.
