I don't think rezzing in the play zone would take anything away from the game. I think it would be a definite improvement. You still lose a lot of EXP when you die; that is incentive enough to try not to die for me!! IMO it's overkill to lose almost 200 EXP at level 25 per death and THEN also have to rez in town.
