Pshhh, mindless ape-a-noids.
That's the same as saying Harry Potter has shades of Lord of the Rings, or Tarzan has shades of King Kong because they both have something similar in them(IE monkeys, or Japanese people)
If they really really just have to use that phrase, it would be much closer(but yet maybe still not good enough, IMO) to say it has shades of Shogun.
