There is a risk that in instituting this kind of reward that it creates people who try to be helpful/outstanding only for the reward. That is, people who change during the event's duration, then change back once they're out of it.
This of course may be inconsequential, because the good that the person did, regardless of motivation and impetus of the do-gooder, stays an act of good.
Just a thought.
