well last few enhancements ive made have failed...
the last 4 tbh..never got past +5..they always broke after failing 4x
but then i remeberd i saw this a few days ago..so i just tryed it and BOTH my weapons got to +6, without failing once!
i think it mite be a hidden enhancement for the gms to use >.<
