Actually no. It was always supposed to be on the 9th. When SKiNG first posted it, he looked at the date wrong, but had the right day. He changed it and even posted a "sorry for the mix-up" post. We then changed the title of the thread to reflect the 9th. As far as I know it was never set for the 7th or 8th.
It should happen tonight around midnight PST. Also, all of their announcements do state that times, day, and material can be changed at any time if something comes up.

I heard over and over that it was going to be the day after, again and again.
