Mage is pretty good, except it might be a little difficult to start with, it you're a beginner. Since you can make up to 4 characters on 1 server, you could make characters of all classes and choose which one you like the best.

That's what I did and ended up sticking with my mage for the most part. Plus with multiple chars you get the benefit of all production skills and inventory mules.
