lvra gots the idea of a great archer ^^. I would suggest to keep the bow AND get a xbow.
I think bows are useful when your only attacking one moster at a time, since its faster attack rate, and you should use a xbow when your aoeing,i.e. killing more than one moster at a time, since you have more power and have a higher crit rate.
