End stats for a mage on free stat can be helpful however I don't recommend it. Most mages get there extra end from equips and focus mainly on spr,int and dex when it comes to free stats.

Personally I love my archers pure dex build, people say it's a stupid build but some of my higher level archer friends who have the same build can kite large 6x rooms at level 51 and rarely get hit...

seems to me like the clerics were expecting another cleric to heal you, when everyone thinks somone else will heal you just end up with a bunch of clerics smacking around monsters.
