I ask nicely for a buff, they either run off or pretend afk [and it's uber clear that they're not] what's wrong???? =/

They could at least reply or say something like "sorry you suck too much for a buff" I'd at least be appreciative for that rather than get snobbed and look like a fool...

Sometimes they just don't see your message with all the spam and they're probably in guild/parter/whisper chat. Happens to me all the time.
