Did the Donor Die?

I wouldn't expect Entropy to post a thread asking people to donate to the site, but I will post one asking where all of the donors went.

Last month when it launched there were multiple donations before Entropy could even get it all worked into the site and this month it is now the end of April and the goal is less than half met.

It is set up so that you can donate in $5 increments but if that is too much then there is a custom option where you can give $1 or whatever you choose. $1 per month only runs $12 a year - not much for a decent (and I do think we have a decent) fan-site.

For those who have all the "wth?" and "what is the donate about?" kinda questions, here are some threads from when it was first implemented:

Please don't necro those threads but please read them for more info.

Anyway, another month is about to begin so I will again donate to help pay for the many times I do post searches and for the many times I view the same thread two or three times a day for six days in a row (adding a one pop count each time).

And besides, this really is a good forum so I want to help support it and keep it that way.

Most people just donated for the bar, and I guess all that you needed to donate was $1. Now that the bar is obtained, why do it again? Not my oppinion, but that's probably what's going on!

I'm trying to put in 5$ at least every month but I won't have I-net access for at least 2. I'll put it in before I go.

I wouldn't worry about the donation fund for this month, seeing as how last month got a good chunk beyond what was asked.

And yeah, like others said, I imagine a lot donated only for the tag and ability to change their title. Since people are tag-whores, entropy might consider making various levels of donation tags. The more you donate, your tag gets a star added, or something. *shrug*

People like incentives.
