Serious lag issues

well, I've always wondered how to fix my horrid lag problem, and i checked the requirements, i have all of them. I even make the background super LQ and exit programs that i don't need. but i still have really bad lag! D:

plz help i have windows xp. i've done virus scans and stuff but it isn't helping.

Also, if i didn't have lag, i would have already been lvl 60 by now >.>

u can describe the lag?

-Can u move the camera when its lag?
-When does lag, and does it come in a pattern?
-U know some kind of trigger to the lag?

1. bad computer ?
2. bad net ?
3. maplag ? i lagg in windy cave for example
4. could be firewall, try turning them off and try playing then.
sum games use ports so the gaming will be smoother or so, it's for the firewalls/net, The guys on fiesta haven't said that fiesta uses any, so just turn firewalls off. :p

^^ What Villi said about the firewalls, ports, and junk is probably your problem. :)

You can try reducing the priority of Xtrap, dismissing your anti-virus program and any other unnecessary processes stuffing up your system.

It can also never hurt to have more RAM :)...

RAM helps everything! (sometimes...) and also another reason could be is that you are using an undedicated video card. If that is true and the video card is attached to your motherboard it means it is sharing RAM and using unwanted power (plus it is prob a crappy one that dell put in there) You can buy a new PCI video card (make sure your computer has a PCI slot) for really cheap...

2 Gigs of Ram = $50 - 60
an okish video card $100-200

Also try using programs like CCleaner, Defraggler and a-squared (free edition)

http://www.defraggler.com/

Hope this helps or I might just be talking too much.

That's just not true. Ports are related to the TCP/IP-Stack and what port is used has no impact at all on the performance. And also turning off the firewall is no good idea, because it lowers the protection of the computer. Just make sure u can connect to 64.127.118.0/24(hardware firewall), and/or let the fiesta.bin and outspark.exe connect to the internet (software firewall).

as a somehow oldy i actually still have a computer with real PCI-Slots. But i didnt put a video card in a PCI-Slot since about 10years. What u mean is the PCIe-Slots.

Yes sorry.

PCIe = PCI Express there are 1.0 and 2.0 versions so be careful..If your computer is less than 1 or 2 years old it is a safe bet you have a 1.0 version.

Should be safe with most cards. Stay away from the Geforce 9 Series unless your computer is really new.

my moms comp that got like all the same parts in the gaming comp
and it lags lol my comp in my room turns off wen i play any game

Well...I guess it might help a bit if you went to the Taskmanager>Processor and checked the amount of memory Fiesta takes up...If it's close to the max, then that's prob where the lag is from...and there's nothing really you can do about it - you could get a new computer/laptop :/...But what a waste...
