Potions or stones - which should you use first?

It depends really. Since I have potion making, I use potions first. So I don't have to spend as much money on stones.
If you find alot of potions, use them first. EDIT: Scratch that, just use pots even if you don't find alot. |

Anyway, as for HP, I play fairly recklessly for an archer and end up using both up anyway; sometimes as quick as the cooldowns allow for either if I'm in an area a good bit above my level. I don't like resting so I just plow through and while gobbling up stones and pots until I'm empty then head back to town. Not the most economic approach to grinding I guess but it's a lot less boring. As for SP, that's not generally a big problem for me. I just use whichever. Potion if I actually think about it. |
Well it depends on the situation but i would go with potions first.
As (pending on the potion) the stones would be more handy if needed. |
Stones are mainly for emergencies, when you have to heal and you can't use pots cause of 3 sec cooldown. Or when you run out of pots.

Right now, I just use the potions I find because the HP potions can heal almost all of my HP in one go and the SP potion can restore a lot of my SP.
Most of the time though, it's tent time when I get too low on both. |
I use stones since the button is more convienient and I usually don't have potions since I don't have the production skill.

I'm a cleric and usually use SP more than HP (I usually use cure on myself anyway), and I used stones because I get annoyed at having to use 3 SP potions to restore all my SP. Stones are more convenient to me since I can wait till I'm very low on SP and just click once to fill it all up again. XD

Stones, then potions if they're necessary. Stones are cheaper and they heal a percentage of your health or sp's as opposed to a fixed amount(potions). Potions are for emergencies, like if you're waiting for the stone cooldown to wear off, or if you're fighting bosses.
