Outspark silently supports Community Patchs
After outspark recently released a new Version of XTrap that actively looks for modified client files. I thought that would be the end of the useful patches like removing the xp-meter or fixing the bugged quests.
But: both is still possible! Outspark only added files that are known to be used for simple hacks in the XTrap check! I dont why they did that, but they are indirectly allowing such modifications with that. MaxOff |
Um, explain?

well since one of the last patches, xtrap checks some files if they are modified.
if they are, xtrap closes your client right away. At first i though they would check up all the .shn files. But they actually do not check up all the files. Files that are not important in a hacking perspective, but very important from a player perspective, are not checked for modifications. Like QuestDialog.shn(contains all the quest bugs, and they can be fixed there too) or Maininterface.TGA(the main interface texture, containing the xp-meter). While it would have been easier to just check them all, they left (intentionly?) that gaps. So we can actually fix the quest on our own. I really don't know why outspark is not doing on there own though. Or making a mod like removing the xp-meter from the interface, by making it 100% transparent. I did that because it would drive me nuts looking at how slow im getting xp. Removing the meter really helps. |
I guess they dont mind you modifying game files that don't give u significant advantages, and only want to prevent, for instance a hack that would give u thousands of exp from a slime or that would allow players to bot? since even if u ignore ur exp it wont affect how fast u level (except maybe psycologically?)

I'm sure they mind ;p lol.
