Archer Questions

I'm considering re-rolling (starting a new char) with an Archer!:rolleyes:

Can someone give me the benefits of an Archer and why it's good / fun to be one? Thanks! +rep to first helper =D

=) I jsut find its funner to be a archer than any other class. WE dont have to constantly use skills but we can if we wanna kill faster I guess.
We can be tanks if build right and were just awsome XD

^.^ I wont denie there are the few downsides to it but outspark is planning on fixing them.

;P Plus we can also pwn mages XD least I knows I can lol O.o if they arnt like 10 lvls above meh.

The archer is the easiest class, IMO.

What I mean by that is:
Fighters--Got to tank and always watch their health and use stun and use mock and .... @.@ all the buttons and skills end up confusing me.
Clerics--Got to heal non-stop.
Mages--Got to use spells non-stop.

But with archers, just spam your skills, and you're into auto-attack where you can minimize Fiesta and go check your e-mail or something for like 15+ seconds. Come back, spam your skills again.

Plus... not many people get angry at archers because there is not really a way for archers to mess up their "job" like there is with fighers and clerics.

Archers compared to its counterpart DD has more HP and defense. There is, like the others said, auto attack so it's much easier to maneuver.

I went a 25 SPR rest DEX build and it worked wonders. I made sure I always had END rings and my Crossbows too had some number of END. I never had to worry about missing and was great during PvP as well. This build starts to really shine in later 40s/early 50s when you have a good amount into your stats.

Depending on gear you could possibly tank the bosses in Mini Dragon. I tend to become back-up 'tank' cause my arrows always hit due to high DEX. I can take all of the dragon's attack except its magic. So that's something to look forward to I guess? I've also done a fair PvP against a Mage 10 or so levels above me. No scrolls and just skills. All of my skills hit with criticals and the Mage didn't even have time to cast Fear or Mana Burn on me.

Later I switched it up to a 1:2 DEX:STR build due to the lack of change in Archer skills and damage. I can kill an Orc in 4-5 hits, sometimes less, with a licensed crossbow. I can, with a good Cleric, take on 4-5 Orcs (sometimes more by mistake) and about 2-3 Blue Trumpies with little to no problem. That's just my experience.

Also, I empowered both attack and cooldown on Aimed and Power Shots. It's great! With it I don't have to wait in between Orcs but with the cooldown lowered I can move onto the next mob as soon as one dies.

SO, exactly what build do I use??? 1:2 DEX:STR or 1:2 DEX:END ??

I think I'll probably be a solo and party / KQ on the occassion, if that helps.

well if your gonna solo all the time go wit dex,end build but if your gonna pt alot which u will need to do in higher lvls go with dex,str build

Well, in my opinion you don't need to add to END through stat placement. You're missing out on the block rate because you don't have a shield. So you can get the same effect through just END equipment.

Therefore, the best build is either 25 SPR rest STR for the 'power build'. You can possibly go full STR as well but it's probably better to have a bit of critical bonus.

Another build that is great during boss runs and KQs is 1:2 DEX:STR or 25 SPR full DEX builds. You will probably need to use an Aim scroll if you do the DEX:STR build if you are going against red monsters (ie. Trumpies at late 40/early 50s). The full DEX build, you don't have to worry about Aim... and you'll be great during PvP as well.

Don't think of DEX as being able to evade a whole lot at this point. Think of it more for being able to hit. Until they change how DEX affects our characters it's best to think this way. Now, if you believe you lack power or defense in anyway... you'll have to look into getting STR and/or END fused equipment/weapons. Even upgrading if you have the means. I carry two STR rings and two END rings... STR for when I party and switch it up to END rings during solos.

Well I'm gonna change my build. And the build I'm thinking for aoeing and soloing is a 3:1 Str DEx build after 25 spr.
