This is why I hate Fox news.
They throw everything out of proportion and try to make things seem worse than they really aren't.
"It has been a week since conservative writer Kevin McCullough attacked Mass Effect for its mature content. He has since apologized in the face of extensive criticism. However, that hasn't stopped FOX News from picking up and spinning the story for its own purposes: the Mass Effect debacle has now hit mainstream media. Using a similar title to McCullough's article, the segment "'Se'Xbox? New Video Game Shows Full Digital Nudity and Sex" featured a debate between talk show host Cooper Lawrence and Spike TV's Geoff Keighley earlier this week. Though Keighley tried valiantly to defend the game, he was outnumbered. Lawrence and the other panel critics cited a study "out of the University of Maryland right now that says that boys that play video games cannot tell the difference between what they're seeing in the video game and the real world." This was combined with an exaggerated and falsified representation of the actual in-game content in order to suggest that the game should have shipped with an Adults Only rating. "Who can argue, possibly, that Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas is a good thing. It's not. And I'm definitely not going to let Mass Effect in my house," one panelist concluded. GamePolitics has a transcript of the conversation as well as a video of the panel. Though it's frustrating to watch, it's not really anything new for gamers. The mass media often targets games as the source of violence in society, and now it seems that rampant sexual deviance is another one of the many wrongs that our industry perpetuates." |
why are they making nudity and sex a big deal in M rated games~_~+...wth, that's like the whole point of rate M games, nudity, sex, bloody, massive killing of everything you see, or scaring the shiz out of you, or all of the above.

Funny, I hate Fox too.
Although I hate them because they're a bunch of ignorant, racist, idiots. And Rupert Murdock (Fox owner, unless I confused names.) is a completely bias moron. And I hate how they hand-pick stories out before airing. "Hmm... Japanese create synthesized stem-cells, or Noah's Arc might have been found in Palastine..." "Oh, wait, this is Fox! Arc it is!" |

Well, I agree that some people really are too into their games and cannot differentiate from game and reality. They think that what happens in-game is fine to do in real life... but the problem doesn't lie within the game. It is a game for goodness sake. The bigger problem there is the kid's parents letting him/her play such things. They obviously didn't bring up their kids in a more loving environment so they had to run to games to escape reality then in turn the game becoming their reality.
Blowing crap out of proportion always happens. How else are they going to feed their children who probably play M rated games anyway. |

I hate how they always act so upity and right, and non-"conservatives" (that is so ironic to use that word) are always made to look moronic on Fox. Please, anyone who says global warming is propoganda is already over 9000 on the dumbass scale. I have to say that I take offense to that, much like I take offense to 4/5 things said on Fox. I'm a guy, but do I think that I can go downtown or to a mall and decapitate people? Are you joking? |
