All about Stats

This is the official info Kezzerdrix gave us.
(Kezzerdrix is one of Outspark Community Managers.)

Strength (STR): physical damage (w/ bonus every 5 points)
Dexterity (DEX): aim and evasion
Endurance (END): defense, HP, and shield defense
Intelligence (INT): magic damage (w/ bonus every 5 points)
Spirit (SPR): magic defense, critical hit rate, SP

Now some people will find this a bit too vague. ;)
This topic will try to give more in-depth infos about them.

/!\ The following was google-translated from the Japanese website (Bright Kingdom Online) so it's probably not 100% accurate.

Note that Dexterity (DEX) is known as Agility (AGI), Endurance (END) as Vitality (VIT) and Spirit (SPR) as Mind (MND) on the Japanese version, I'll stick with Kezzerdrix's translation.

This should give us the following sub-stats :

Hit Points (HP) - Your health gauge, affected by END.
Spirit Points (SP) - Your mana gauge, affected by SPR.
Physical Damage - Damage dealt with your regular attacks and Skills, affected by STR.
Defense - Physical Damage reduction, affected by END.
Magic Power - Damage dealt with your Spells, affected by INT.
Magic Defense - Magic Damage reduction, affected by SPR.
Aim - The accuracy of your attacks, affected by DEX.
Evasion - Chance to dodge attacks, affected by DEX.
Critical Hit Rate (hidden sub-stat) - Chance to inflict a Critical Attack, affected by SPR.
Shield Block Rate (hidden sub-stat) - Chance to block attacks with your Shield, affected by END.

Q: How are Stats points obtained ?
A: You gain 1 Stats point each time you level up.
Once you complete the level 20 Job change quest, you are awarded 5 points.
Once you complete the level 60 Job change quest, you are awarded 20 points.
With these points, you can directly increase the following Stats : STR, DEX, END, INT, SPR.

Q: Do your Stats automatically increase when you level up ?
A: Yes, in addition to the manual increase, your Stats automatically increase each time you level up.

Q: Can I retrieve the Stats points I used ?
A: No. Once you use your Stats points, it's permanent.

Q: What does "hidden sub-stat" mean ?
A: It means the given sub-stat will not show in your Stats window so it won't be easy to know it's exact value.

Q: Does STR also affect Ranged damage (Archer's bow/crossbow) ?
A: It seems STR does affect Ranged damage, while DEX doesn't. (Need to be confirmed)

Q: Can Skills miss (meaning they rely on aim) ?
A: ? (Need to be checked)

Q: Can Spells miss (same as above) ?
A: ? (Need to be checked)

Q: Can Skills crit ?
A: Yes. (Need to be confirmed)

Q: Can Spells crit ?
A: Yes.
Screenshot of a Mage using an AoE Spell. He clearly crits a Spider.

Q: What does a crit do ?
A: 200% Damage (or double damage).
Screenshot. The damage shown in purple (977) is a critical hit, you can notice it does about 2 times the regular Spell damage (shown in salmon pink).

Update

Q: Is there a Stat that reduces Spells and/or Skills cast time ?
A: No.

Q: Is there a Stat that reduces Spells and/or Skills cooldown time ?
A: No.

Q: Is there a Stat that increases your resistance against status ailments ?
A: ? (Need to be checked)

Q: Can one block Spells and/or Skills with a Shield ?
A: ? (Need to be checked)

Guess we'll have to figure out how effective a crit build can be for a Mage or if it's simply better to focus on high Magic Power... :D

Rightclaw 06-20-2007 01:19 AM

I guess I'll simply devote my time to building all types of Mages o.O
