Cable Router / Modem

At home, we've got cable Internet, and the cable goes into a modem, then a router is connected to the modem and all the computers connected to the Netgear router.

Now, this stupid Netgear router drops the wireless off every few days, and we need a new router.

I went onto our ISP's website and they've got a list of approved Modems:

Motorola
SB4100, SB4101, SB4200, SB5100, SB5101
Netgear
CG814WG, CVG824G, CG3000
CISCO
EMTA2203, DPQ3212, DPQ3925

Will these ones on the list replace both the router and the modem that we've got?

Is netgear still a good brand too? Our current router makes me hate netgear =_= but it's just prob cos it's old

I wouldn't get netgear and D-link xD

I'm interested in looking into CISCO but I can't understand the PDF..

maybe it's just late I'll check again tmr.. but I can't tell if it's a router too..

the CISCO DPQ3925 looks like it does replace both. i couldn't find the EMTA2203 for some reason. looks like EMTA is something else for cisco and not part of model numbers.

didn't check the other brands cause you said you were interested in cisco.

I heard Linksys is pretty good.

Cisco/linksys is pretty good. Netgear is crap. Their customer service sucks from my experience and their routers don't last very long. We had our netgear router less than a year, we've had out linksys for 2 years.

my linksys router actually never died. we just got a router with fios that we had to use.
