New Laptop
 

Hey yall, I had got a new laptop the other day (and loving it) and tested it out by playing Luvinia which is good. I was wondering if anyone knows another mmo i can try out. I was thinking about Rift, but i want to see if anyone else has any suggestions.

DCUO will be free-to-play by the end of October, and Star Trek Online will be by the end of the year. There's also Lego Universe.

I've been lookin at vids of DCUO. It looks like a good game. Are there any big differences for playing free and having to pay $15 a month or with a game card (I think they have those for the game)?

Ok. I think I'll try it out when it becomes free. One last question, are the in game items expensive cause i see that the amount free users can have are 1500

That is going to be a bit of an issue, I think. They've also said the number isn't fixed in stone. A couple of wipes worth of repairs at level 30 could very well be over 2000.

Anything you earn over the 2000 mark will be put in escrow, so that if you ever sub or pay for "cash boosts" you can access the full amount you have stored.

I don't understand what you mean. They're changing the business model from a monthly subscription to a three-tiered account access level, including one that is completely free to play. What would the refund be?

I wouldn't recommend Rift. It's a pay to play in a gaming economy that is quickly embracing f2p or pay once to play. Plus its riding WoWs back on innovation. Aside from graphics, lore, and a few little differences, it's just like WoW which has better payment options.

Team Fortress 2 is F2P, and pretty god damned awesome.
