Can't go wrong with Higurashi no Naku Kori ni or Umineko no Naku Koro ni.

Just finished Angel Beats today. Don't recommend it. Anime meant to be deep, yet managing to not be so deep.

Full Metal Alchemist Film was pretty awesome, helps if you've seen the first series of the anime though

hajime no ippo. It's a good series with 3 seasons and another one that is will come out. Plus the manga is still going.

Elfin Lied - 13 episodes but one of the few animes I have watched that was engrossing both English Dubed and Subed... in different ways. BTW episode 1 lies, the rest of the anime is NOT like the first 5 minutes ><

Casshern Sins: Good anime but gets suck in a rut for a few episodes.

Casshern (Movie): see if you can get a copy of this subbed. Wonderful movie.

Akira: Classic of classics. I had to watch it 3x to completely get the movie tho.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - its pretty good, could have been alot better. But then again I have a thing for GitS.

Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone / Rebuild of Evangelion 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance: Very, very well done rebuild of evangelion.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works - Pretty good movie, I felt that they rushed the UBW arc however. If you have the opertunity, get your hands on a copy of the Fate/Stay Night game and download Mirror/Moon 's translation.

Grave of the Fireflys: If this movie does not touch you, then you have no soul.

Black Lagoon was referred as the closest that Japanese animation came to a Hollywood action-blockbuster. I'm partial to the Terminator-Maid, creepy psycho-twins and Balalaika myself.


Read Or Die was a pretty good set of 3 movies/OVAs. It's like a mix of X-Men, James Bond and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I enjoyed Black Lagoon.

Ray bebop is my first recommendation since you haven't seen it lol, but I'd suggest Beserk, Hellsing, and I'm watching Golgo 13 right now on netflix and it's entertaining.
