I'm on the skytrain right now and the guy beside me is eating gravy with a spoon. Not only that but he's also smelling it and licking...

I have a feeling the gravy you're referring to is prepared differently or is a different thing alltogether ?
Its perfectly accessible to drink gravy with a spoon while eating (Well, off your plate, not out of the Gravy-boat-thing)
Unless he wasnt eating and just nommin on some Gravah.
