Noob Questions
Hello all, obviously by my title and posts, you can tell, I am a noob to Fiesta : D
I started earlier today and I've been really liking it so far, somethings I wanted to know about PvP and deaths though. So for PvP, when is a good time to start? Right now I'm not sure which class to go with, I've managed a Mage up to 14, Cleric to 10, and since it's astonishingly easy for the first few levels, I'm thinking of starting an Archer. So far I've been enjoying the mage most, but are they any good with PvP? I'm assuming archers would be the "rogue" class and great at 1v1 but not so well in large-scale (usually large-scale is the mages playing field for PvP) or am I completely backwards? And what is the penalty for deaths (PvP and PvE)? Obviously you lose XP, but does this apply to PvP too? And what are the other loses upon death (if any.) Another thing, is it possible to "de-level" in this game? I've played a couple where if you lost say 3%xp for a death, and you had less than 3% on your EXP bar, you'd revert back to your previous level, with usually 1% on your bar so you had to fully regain the level. Thanks for your time, and any extra tips you'd like to throw in such as beginners guides would be appreciated. |
Lets start with the EXP - You lose 1% for dying in PVE. And I think this doesn't apply in the early levels (like up to 10? not 100% sure). It also doesn't apply in Kingdom Quest.
with PVP you only lose EXP if you died in a map called Abyss, and u'll lose 0.1%. If you died in PVP Kingdom Quest you don't lose any EXP. If my memory is correct, you don't lose EXP in Free Battle Zone either. In Fiesta, generally Mages and Fighters are good PVP class. Mages have lot of debuff type of skills and fighters usually have a large HP pool and high dmg. (Of coz, you'll need to reach certain levels to get all your useful skills..) Archers and clerics are weaker in terms of PVP. That's not to say you can't be a good PVPer with these classes, just that you'll need lots of cash shop items... IMO archers are good solo PVE class with its kiting skills. |
Archers can be good in PvP - a friend of mine regularly did well in the lower levels (under 50). The game is weighted to where mages become the most powerful players in the higher levels (fear plus heavy damage makes them damn near unstoppable). Fighters are always a good choice for PvP at any level. Don't bother with PvP as a cleric. You don't do enough damage to take down a fighter, and archers and mages destroy you with their range attacks.

Thank you for the info.
I think I'm going to progress with Archer and Mage. Made an archer and because of the high damage output was able to reach 12 within 30 minutes. Cleric spikes my interest due to their ability to be virtually immortal, but the slow killing really gets on my nerves, and I'm not the type to follow groups of people in game constantly. It seems they can hold their own though. I foolishly went into the battlefield place at 12 with my Archer (died pretty quick, so I just watched the show,) and saw two Fighters teaming up on one well-geared paladin, and managed to eventually to kill one and the other ran off. |
It's true Clerics are hard to take out - my 8x pally can hold her own in PVP kq, but what Helion said is true, a fighter's stun move pretty much is the end, and a mage's fear is the same thing; because you can't heal then. You'll only surivie PVP as a cleric if you have a ton of SC, or if you're surrounded by archers xD
The slow killing - yes it's annoying, but a +10 hammer makes it better :p |
Cleric are only good for Party healing and questing. yes Not the best pvp'ers but hey, they get the Job done :)

The long CD for healing is annoying when trying to heal in parties..I'll get people who pull too many and spazz because I can't heal them all in time.
I'm leaning more towards archer though, due to the fact I don't need mana/SP to dish out good damage. And could anyone explain to me what the actions do? I have not been able to find anything about them anywhere, obviously auto-attack and auto-loot ones are easy to figure out but, ones like "assist (or 'aid', not sure)" what exactly do they do? |
Assist makes you target whatever your ally is targetting. If you 'Assist' a Fighter who's fighting an orc, you will target the orc. I think that's right.
