Weirdest phone call at work.

I had to make a phone call at work, and usually it just gives a dial ringtone normally. But for this guy, the dialing tone starts, then I suddenly heard a guy (recorded) yelling "SOMEONE GET THAR PHONEEEEEE. WHY DOESN'T ANYONE GET THAT PHONEEEEEE. WHERE IS THE PHONEEEEEEEEE?" while the dialing tone is still ringing in the background @_@ so I'm pretty sure that message was recorded.

Then the recorded voice said "OHH THERE IS MY PHONE..........." and then the guy picks up!!

I was like O_O and forgot to say hello @_@ but I wonder if the guy already picked up by the time the recorded voice said "ohh there is my phone..." because it seems like the other guy said hello for a while. But I can't remember now...............

They're called Call Tones in the States. You can have any sort of music of whatever replacing the regular ringing sound.

The weird thing was that it didn't exactly replace the dialing tone, because the dialing tone was there all along!

You get the dialing tone for a few seconds then it will be replaced.

Sounds like someone has a prank on their answering machine.

I knew someone who had their machine answer and it was them saying something like "hang on" then a pause "hold a minute" then another pause "Hey!" followed by another pause during which you would speak to him then "oh, sorry, not home, leave a message". It was rather annoying because the first time or two you would fall for it and start talking before the machine beeped.

LOLOL That's an evil answering machine!

I've called a school up once and they had the answering message done by a group of kids saying "We can't take your call at the moment, please leave a message" it made a boring message like that quite cute...
