I'll always first remember it as "the book-in-which-liar/embellisher/author's-mother-cries-on-Oprah."

Edit: Or was that something else?

Hraesvelg 09-20-2010 02:30 AM

I don't know if his mother cried about it, but I know she had him and his publisher back on and she crushed them.

Edit: Er, by she, I meant Oprah.

^ This book was...interesting.
I had to read it for my GCSEs but I couldnt honestly say I enjoyed it. Although that may have been due to the context in which I was forced to read it.

A book I am currently reading and enjoying is:

No worries. No one likes Catcher in the Rye. Everyone claims it's one of the best pieces of American literature but it never lives up to that expectation. It's a fairly interesting read, yes, but Holden does come across as a self-obsessed twat and really doesn't seem to take anything away from his experiences.

Started reading the Clockwork Angel part of the Infernal Devices series. Planning on reading the Mortal Instrument series once done. o:

Shouldn't you read The Mortal Instruments first?

You should meet an English teacher at my school.. he would totally disagree with you. You don't even know. My English teacher has read CITR like 5 times and is just now getting.. kinda.. why its (kinda) good. Lol. She went to that English teacher that absolutely loves it and told him she thought it was dumb though xD
