I just got the weirdest phone call. lolol

The phone rang and I answered and this person is asking for my dad. The fact that he pronounced his name weird wasn't really a problem because it's pretty hard to pronounce until you've heard it once. But then... omg, it just got weird...

Me: He's not home.
Person: What?
Me: He's not home.
Person: What?
Me: He's not home.
Person: I don't understand you.
Me: He's not home.
Person: Oh, so she's not there?
Me: Yeah.
Person: Can I get his cellphone number and [something else.. didn't hear this part accurately]

That's when I realized that this person has a thick accent. At first, I wanted to say Indian. But the more I heard it, the more I thought it might have been Russian? Eastern European?

Me: Who are you?
Person: I'm from the US government.
Me: Why do you need his cellphone number?
*pause*

*starts reading script*
Person: She has been selected to win $6,xxx [blahblahblahblah]

I couldn't understand what he was saying and at that point, I couldn't really care less and I hung up on him. lol.


Now that I think about it, I kind of wish I talked with him a little longer to see what that was about. lolollololol. But I was just too annoyed at the time.

Whenever someone calls my house in another language(my native language) I say "hold on", they usually don't understand and continue talking as I go look for my mom and dad, if I can't find them then I just hang up and don't pick it up again unless I know my mom or dad's in the housexD. Probably not a good thing to do since they personally know my mom or dad.

I usually chat with these guys. Or just express myself a lil bit. 8D

They're quite fun.

I pretend to cry and say that I'm about to commit suicide. Sometimes they hang up, and sometimes they actually try to talk you out of it, heh. Go figure.

LOL @ Lirange - Sometimes I know it's a telesales call and I put them on hold for an extended period of time.. Then I go back to check after a while, sometimes they're still waiting O_O Not often though.. so I hang up without a word...

i just pick up and leave the phone sitting next to me as i talk on vent xD
