how do i assign skill point? i just started playing and im a little confused

You open your skill menu by pressing K.

Next to each squared skill icon, there's a TINY button labeled "P" next to the skill icon. Click on that, this will open up your skill empowering window.

Then you click up and down arrows for the stats that you want to empower. You can roll over your skill icon to see what effects the points add to the skill.

Note that once you've clicked OK, the skill points are used and you cannot change it unless you spend heaps of cash to buy a skill reset scroll.

If you need further explanation let me know, I'll probably do some screenshot for you.

Besides that, be sure to google fiesta wiki, it has very good info related to fiesta and im sure is useful to everyone.

Sometimes its best to save a skill point, than using it right away.

Unless u want to pay real money to reset ur points when you're a higher lvl adn want to place them in other skills, u get 1 skill point every 2 lvl ups.

True,save some skill points for the more powerfull and interesting skills than spending them all on low lvls skills.
